Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery

16201 Tomki Road, Redwood Valley CA, USA 95470

December 23, 2008

Respectful greetings PhraRachabhavanavikrom,

I am writing this letter on behalf of the Sangha of Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery, Redwood Valley, California. We would like to respectfully request Wat Nong Pah Pong's permission to allow Phra Pesalo to join our community in America. He has been living with Ven. Ajahn Jundee at Wat Pah Ampawan, Chonburi Province for many years now and has received his blessings. I am also Phra Pesalo's kammavacacariya and have known him for many years. I think he would benefit in having the experience of living as a monk in the environment of the West. It would also be of great benefit to our community to have a Thai monk residing with us to help with the training of the younger monks and the training of the lay community, both Thai and American.

Whether this is appropriate or not, I leave to your discretion.

With respect and appreciation,

Pasanno Bhikkhu (co-abbot)

Hope you travel to the West na ka.
I have been to Abhayagiri once to meet Pra A. Amaro who has a great sense of humour. I was so miserable at that time and by talking to him. I smiled all the way back home in SFO.

Anyway, there are friendly snakes around the monastry. Be careful na ka.
